Tactical Upgrade is our methodology that we use for Oracle E-Business Suite upgrade projects.  Tactical Upgrade is a variant of our RAPID Implementation Methodology and it is designed to enhance user experiences through out the upgrade process by utilizing a series of iterative upgrade prototype cycles.  We have successfully used this methodology for many upgrades beginning with Release 10.6 to the most recent Release 12.

The upgrade process is achieved by synchronizing the iterative upgrade prototyping cycles with WRICEP element (i.e. Workflow modifications/Reports/ Interfaces/ Conversions/ Extensions/ Personalizations) update cycles.  This Agile style prototyping approach will allow the project team to identify any potential issues early in the process so that there will be sufficient time to resolve the issues.  The flexible design will also allow us to adapt to different clients' situations depending on the complexity of the custom extension elements.

Working in conjunction with the DBA team and with multiple database instances, functional team and technical team can synchronize their activities to complete the upgrade in a shorter period of time.
